Aversion to Negativity in an Awakening

I noticed something. Ever since I started my journey into metaphysics, I have had an aversion to negativity.

Is it because I made a conscious effort to focus only on the positive, I have only wanted to bring positive into my life?

Or… Is it something more?

Ever since I have literally and figuratively seen the Light, I have not wanted to watch fear-based media. I stopped watching the news for one. I do not watch the zombie shows or any other fear-based movies.

I feel better … happier.

The rocks do not stop the endless flow of water.

Yes, I sort of know what goes on in the world (I read the headlines), but I know that the world is not crumbling quite as much as the news would lead us to think. I rarely see bad things happen.

If I thought the world was like the news all day every day, I would be a recluse and never leave the house.

I actually often think that the sole purpose of the news broadcast is to help others understand what to do in times of dire straits. I know that I have lived each lifetime to learn lessons I chose to learn before incarnating here. Maybe how the fireman saved the little girl from a burning building or how so many people band together to help someone who is lost can help someone learn how to help unconditionally.

The Law of Attraction states that what you put into your life comes into your life. The Secret states that what we focus our attention on is what we have in our lives. What do you want in your life?

Fear or Love?

So many positive things happen in the world each day. Choose to focus on that.

Try it for a week. See if you notice a difference.

About Karen Kubicko

www.KarenKubicko.com I found my joy in studying and participating in past life regressions. Ask me any question on past life regression and I will blog the answer. By re-experiencing my own personal past lives, I’ve learned a great deal about myself on multiple levels. I have remembered nearly forty past lives. Through total immersion into each memory, I have released a variety of unfounded fears, explained relationships, alleviated health issues, reawakened psychic talents and explained my fondness of certain time periods and geographic locations. When you personally remember a past life, you can heal yourself of health issues and phobias. Do you have any unfounded fears or phobias in your life? Do you have a nagging health issue? Are these issues unfounded in your current lifetime? Think about it. In my book, Life Is Just Another Class – One Soul’s Journey Through Past Life Regression, I share some of these lifetimes with you, in hopes that I will inspire and excite you to take your own spiritual journey. It is available on Amazon and at Barnes & Noble. We experience several lives here on Earth to learn and to grow. I invite you to embrace this classroom we call Earth and get to know why you are truly here in this lifetime. xoxox Karen

Seeing the positive really does help. It seems all the tangles in my life are starting to unravel. Its amazing what a little bit of positive thinking in the worst of times can do not only to one’s disposition but also to the outcome of the situation at hand! Thanks for sharing Karen! 🙂

  2. Karen, I think many of us feel as you do, and the more we direct our energy to the light, the more our world will shift away from fear.

    • Thank you Alethea! As each an every one of us touch another and spread our light, the world can only increase its positive energy. I think it is why I enjoy the ripples that spread from one random act of kindness so much. Namaste my friend!

My wife feels like this and we have different views on this. Whilst for me it is important to be authentic and that might mean saying things to others in a harmonious way, something that they may not wish to hear. I notice how in our society so many people are afraid of being honest out of fear of conflict. I agree that reading a lot of news or watching TV programs that make us feel depressed is not wise. But I can also acknowledge that some journalists have a deep desire to make sure that the public are not misinformed and that people who are miss using power do not get away with things, like Julian Assange. Saying that I am a great lover of Positive News which I am sure you too would enjoy. Here is a link to them: http://positivenews.org.uk/ Do hear the big picture of what you are saying and I also see that it is very important to have a bright joyful perspective on life,

    • Hello Edgar and Hello Edgar’s positive wife! Thank you for taking the time to comment with your insightful opinion. I do understand the power of the written word and would never discourage anyone from expressing their knowledge. I appreciate the journalists (and any human really) who are honest and true. As I writer, I know there is always a better way to say something. Thank you for the link for Positive News. Have a fabulous day… I am sure your wife’s attitude is rubbing off on you.

I used to LOVE horror movies, murder mysteries and all those stuff…until I got into reading about meta physical stuff too! There isn’t that need to watch these movies or for that matter to read those book either! I haven’t read the newspaper or watched the news for years!!!! It makes my heart beat too fast, I get angry and depressed and frustrated all at once, and I can feel the reflux starting! hehe

Really like your suggestion about focusing on the good news stuff…:)

    • Hello Shree! Thank you for sharing your move to the positive. I know it has been a long time since I have watched a true horror movie (Alien scared me way too much – my last one). I don’t miss the sensationalized media news at all. I would much rather be happy and feel joy all day by reading and seeing the positiveness of life. If it is as simple as shutting off the tv, then it is super easy to achieve. Have a fabulous day Shree! xoxo Karen

Do you find that you are naturally drawn to the positive moments/aspects of life, or do you simply bring your focus back to the positive when it ventures into negative territory? I have found I am much less tolerant for my “down moods” and work to get back to the positive focus. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it’s a struggle. Just wondering if you have specific exercises you use.

    • Hello Iserf13! I do absolutely feel naturally drawn to the positive moments of life. If something negative enters my life, I feel compelled to find an alternative path. The Secret lists several quick and easy ways to change your thought process when negatives enter. Find one thing that makes you smile every time… for me, it is my kids, good friends, nature, thinking of Paris, even something as simple as smelling cinnamon (yum!) ~ there are things all around us that make us smile. Yes, it can be a struggle sometimes. I know that since I started (years ago), it has certainly gotten easier to find the positive. Starting to think positive more and more is the same as adding a new good habit into your life… it takes awhile to get rid of the old habit. Thank you for stopping by! Namaste, Karen

I believe that when we make a conscious decision to be happy, we naturally develop an aversion towards negativity. Negativity is just toooo draining. Negative people also wear me down and suck the life force out of me. The more one seeks positivity the more addicting it gets.

    • Hello Yachna! You are right, it is a conscious decision to be happy, absolutely. I tell my kids all the time, you are the only one who can make you happy – no one else can do that for you. Negative people can literally suck the life out of you (I have met some – use a shield when you encounter them.) I often try and change the subject when someone is being continuously negative, subtly at first and then blatantly (if they don’t “get” it).
I completely agree, it is addicting to seek the positive. Like they say in that one song… love is a drug.

That’s kinda how I try to be, but I get distracted easily. Usually I have to get out in nature, or find a quite peaceful place to get back into my positive state of mind. It’s hard to find sometimes, but heaven on earth does exist.

    • Hello Jamie and Aaron! Nature is the best for an attitude change. I do enjoy getting out and seeing the beauty of all of it. I am glad we have woods in our backyard. I agree, there can be heaven on earth. Thank you for sharing! Namaste!

  8. I haven’t watched the news in probably 15 years. I have never enjoyed gore or horror, I like a thriller every now and then, but I haven’t even seen one of those in a long time, and since 2012 I even more sensitive to negative energies. So I just filter it out. We need to stay as positive as possible to create the world we want~

    • Hello Sindy! I guess the aversion I have had increasingly to negativity is like a sensitivity to it. I did not think of it in those terms, but yes, that is the same. I do agree, when we all hold positive thoughts, do positive things, only positive can stem from it. I love the Maharishi effect for this proof. The world can only get better every day, thought by thought, deed by positive deed. Thank you for bringing positive love (and blue butterflies) into the world. Namaste my dear sweet friend! ♥♥♥♥ Karen

Trying really hard to not think negatively, but some days are hard when outside elements creep into your life. I’ve been listening to Louise Hay and taking on board her message. Thanks so much for putting these aspects into perspective,

    • Hello Cav12! Yes, some days are hard when the outside world creeps in. There is always something positive about nearly every situation, sometimes it is hard to see right away. It is always great to hear Louise Hay’s uplifting words! I am glad you stopped by and got some meaning out of this post in your life. Thank you! Namaste ~ Karen

  12. Great comments today. I soooooo agree! I have often found that some of the most negative people, are relatives. There is a saying that gives me comfort on that score. “Friends are god’s apology for family”. Love that one!

    • Hello Bestillandknow! Thank you for your kind words. You are right, sometimes it is your friends who are really there for you in life. We always hope it will be our family. Our friend can become our family in no time it seems!
      xoxo

  13. Karen, what a beautiful post you have written! Every light-filled word resonates. I couldn’t agree more! Thank you so much for shining your truth so brightly….and for making me smile. Sending you peace and light in the spirit of LOVE!

  14. I too have become the same way since my awakening, in that I quit reading the paper (but still scan MSN to see what is going on in the world) and I quit watching TV four years ago – don’t miss it a bit! I have been called an idealist and a “hippie” for my ways of trying to see love in all there is, but I wouldn’t have it any other way:)

    • Hello Words From the Moon! Thank you for sharing your experience! I don’t miss it a bit. I know I will hear the really important stuff somehow and that I don’t need the constant negativity. I am glad you see the love in all there is, I agree, now that I know. I would not have it any other way either.
      xoxo
