Afraid to Talk About Metaphysics?

I wonder how many people are out there having paranormal or metaphysical or unexplainable experiences and never tell anyone … afraid that others may think they are nuts. I am sure each and every person you have ever met has had something happen to or for them.

Like for example, I have a friend. She thinks she may have had a past life in the South (large dress included). She used to have dreams of it. However because of her religious background, she does not think there is such a thing as past lives.

Seems silly, right? Not really. We have been told repeatedly that there are rules to follow and consequences, the possibility of ostracization from friends and family for “different” beliefs, etc. This adds to our fear—greatly.

Life is to have fun - so pick up some leaves

Even myself, I had a really strange fear that I would be harmed or killed for talking about metaphysical ideals. At that time, I never, ever talked about metaphysics online. I rarely brought it up with my friends or family. I just read about it and talked about it to a few friends that were already okay with it.

In August of 2011, I remembered a past life in which I taught metaphysics, but was eventually killed for teaching it.

I recognized that … wait a minute … I reach down and feel my body … Yep, I am still here.

I realized, OMG. What IS the worry?Life is to have fun - play with nature

I started my social media platform for my bookLife Is Just Another Class–One Soul’s Journey through Past Life Regression, in September 2011. Prior to that month, I had one rarely used Facebook account.

Here I am, FEARLESSLY, talking about the book I wrote on sixteen of my personal past lives. In addition, I talk about other metaphysical subject matter too.

Eventually, most of us will feel safe and secure in talking about seeing a ghost, having a premonition, remembering a past life, seeing auras, seeing an angel or even listening to intuition (it is not just voices in our heads; they are messages of guidance you know – just one way we can listen to our intuition).

Life is to have fun - so let the leaves float down all around you

Some people talk, write or even speak about metaphysics, but do not use their real name. I have found books, etc. that say in the first paragraph that it was written under a pen name. (I use my real name by the way in case you are wondering.)

Some people I know open other, alternate accounts with names like (and I am making this up for example – so if this is a name you use, sorry) “Metaphysical Being” or “Star Love Child” for this metaphysical part of their world.

We do whatever makes us comfortable. And, that is okay. I know how they feel. It is all about feeling safe and secure.

FEELING FEARLESS.

Who knows, maybe they died for it in a past life too.

If you have a fear and want to see if remembering a past life can help, try listening to a meditation to remember a past life right now.

Are You an Aspiring Author? You Need Followers!

From the time I walked in the door to start my first guided past life regression, I knew I wanted to write a book about these experiences from one soul’s perspective. I passionately wanted to write a book about my healing experiences through past life regression. The title is: Life is Just Another Class – One Soul’s Journey through Past Life Regression by Karen Kubicko. My book is an account of sixteen of my past lives and the emotional, spiritual and physical healing that has positively influenced my present lifetime. I am writing it to help others feel comfortable remembering their own past lives.

A fellow blogger asked how followers help get a new author’s book published. Here is my answer Alethea. (Find her at http://nottomatoes.wordpress.com/.) She wrote a book she would like to publish too.

What a beautiful morning with the sun barely peeking through

A year ago, I did not have any social media (except for Facebook – which I barely used at the time). I am trying to follow my intuition, so when I came across a conference by the Hay House, I signed up.

I attended the Hay House Conference called Speak Write Promote September 9-11, 2011. (I got to meet Louise Hay!!! Very cool!) This publisher basically said that an aspiring author needs to have an excellent platform (ie. have a huge following). They gave everyone a manual and talked about important points for each outlet. One week after the conference, I started learning how to use all the popular social media. I have slowly added a few more since.

Attending this conference was also a contest to get a book published, etc. They gave us info on how to write a great book proposal. Plus to enter, you had to do a YouTube video (they want to see you speak). I did not win the contest, but I did win personally – it was a great learning experience. Doing a book proposal was like a dissertation. Entering that contest was a great way to get the job done.

The bonus was this – a few months later, I gave my book proposal to just one literary agent who really loved it and my book! (Doing a happy dance) (Great story on how I found her and met her – I will save that for another time! ♥) She spoke to some publishers, but at the time, I did not have much of a following. The publishers told her that they would love to print the book, but I would need to have thousands of followers. A month later, I found (thank you law of attraction) and started a class that teaches holistic entrepreneurs how to become more visible in the marketplace. I am still learning more each day.

I am doing something right; if I add up all the beautiful people who follow me in some form or fashion – I have gone from 802 on 9-13-2012 to 878 on 9-26-2012! In addition, I also have 911 views from 47 different countries for this blog. (Wait. Does that count as thousands? Well, it is almost 2000.)

In addition to that, I have been teaching classes, etc. about past life. I just started teaching a heart chakra meditation class that I re-learned (I taught it 1000’s of years ago) from a past life. That is a lot of fun for me too! I am excited for this weekend – I have a table at a local holistic fair at a place I will be teaching classes soon. I keep having visions of me speaking on stage to a very large group of people, so I joined a speakers group (Toastmasters) to help hone my speaking skills. I help others remember their past lives as well. It is so rewarding to see others heal.

I have to add that I did look into self-publishing my book. But, there again, you are the one who is publishing it, so you also have to be the one to publicize it = the platform = the followers. So, it is the same. Plus, there is a difference in how non-fiction and fiction books are viewed by publishers as well as how they generally get publicized. Non-fiction books can stay on a shelf a long time, like a reference manual. But, fiction books are harder to sell, unless there is a lot of word of mouth (like Shades of Grey and Harry Potter). A memoir, while being a non-fiction book, sells more like a fiction book.

The whole journey to get to this point has been a lot of fun. That is what life is all about!

I appreciate and love each new person who follows me … they are one person closer to the number of followers I need to be published.

Thank you for being one of them!

My Mandala

During the week of September 12, 2011, I began to put together my website, my business cards and a few social media sites. I quickly realized I needed a photo or some kind of cool image. I sat at my computer thinking of what I could possibly use. I looked up and saw my mandala hanging on the wall. “Hmmm,” I thought, “That might work.” It was my very own mandala.

I had just come back from a fabulous weekend conference sponsored by the Hay House (a publisher). They said all new and emerging writers need social media. I said, “Okay.” I started jotting down ideas on the plane ride home.

My mandala is pretty, colorful and meaningful … a choice that is so much more than just a drawing. My kids and friends agreed this should be my symbol online. Besides, I now had an instant image to use consistently throughout my social media.

I remember the inspiration that pushed me to draw it. During the summer of 2011, I found a local class that taught how to draw mandalas. Unfortunately, I could not attend. I was a little disappointed, but I still felt drawn (pun intended) to create my own mandala. (I am an artist … I have to try it.) Not knowing how to go about it, I looked it up on Google, of course.

A few days after that, my daughter had two friends over to the house. The one child, I knew, was into metaphysical stuff (he dabbled with the pendulum), so I asked them if they were interested in drawing the energy part of themselves. They agreed. I pulled out the bin of colored pencils and cut copy paper into large squares. The mandala website recommended a few dots in a circular pattern to help guide the layout of the image, so I penciled on some dots.

We all sat down at the dining room table. I did a quick guided meditation to get them in the right frame of mind, turned my iPod onto my favorite metaphysical music by Steve Halpern and grabbed a few of the colored pencils. The kids and I drew for about an hour. They came up with some very interesting ideas. A mandala design can contain anything.

I think mine represents the chakras – individual, yet flowing together.

When we were finished, I told them that when they feel a little stressed, they can look at their mandala and it will help them relax. It is relaxing since it reminds them of the love that came from deep within their own true self.

Take a moment and do a Google image search for “mandala”. You will find many intricate, beautiful pieces of art. Get inspired and draw your energy. Whatever comes to you is for you. It all comes from deep within you. Get out your pencils, paint, chalk, pastels, crayons or markers and draw one today.
