My daughter was 3, going on 4 years of age at the time I found the book, Children’s Past Lives by Carol Bowman many years ago.
At this time in her life, she was very insistent upon being called ‘Baby’ instead of her given name. She also said she had no intentions of turning 4 years old and wanted to stay 3 to the point of tears, especially if there was any discussion on either subject. From a parent’s perspective, it was very confusing and as a 3-year-old, she could not explain why.
Following Carol’s advice, I simply asked my daughter what she thought would happen if she turned 4. She went into a very elaborate story (for a 3 year-old) talking about a friend of hers who lived up on a hill. She was laughing so hard remembering and retelling this, it was uncanny.
Then she got very serious and a little nervous. She spoke about walking in the woods and falling on a slippery rock. As she spoke, she started touching her head (where she had two small round strawberry birthmarks for the first few months of her life) and said she was hit with a ‘mean rock’ on her head. She was very emotional about the whole thing.
What was interesting and enlightening, is that a few days later, she was fine with turning 4 years old and decided she was fine not being called ‘Baby’ anymore. I could not believe it. She had been very adamant about not growing up and being called ‘Baby’ for as long as she was 3. It was quite a noticeable change in her. I truly believe she remembered a past life or two and they definitely made a change in her life, albeit a small one, but meaningful. It still amazes me when I think of this day. We were just standing there in the kitchen chatting, like it was a normal everyday conversation… then healing happens.
When she talked about a mean rock hitting her in the head, I immediately thought she was talking about being shot. It was the motion and the way she described it that made me think this way. The two strawberry birthmarks on the top of her head (that she had for a few months) looked like small bullet holes. Interestingly, she has a birthmark on the back of her head that almost looks like an exit wound from a bullet. It is still there though, now hidden by her hair.
Very interesting.
Yes it is Connie… and I have more to come…

amazing story… my grandson talks of his great great grand father all the time and a great great uncle and the town being flooded. He is seven now and talks a little less about him though I have always found it fascinating. My daughter who is in her 40’s now took four years of French in high school because even back then she was drawn to the era… she has always had a unexplained fear of crowds.. I joke with her that perhaps watching the angry mobs back then. She has always had throat troubles too! Some day I’d like to take her to someone to do a past life regression just to see. Great story, thanks
Hello Jacki,
Thank you for sharing your story about your grandson! I do hope you wrote it all down for him. He may forget it later on in life. I can definitely relate to your daughter… I have LOVED French things for as long as I can remember. Bienvenue! Bienvenue! French During a Past Life Regression
You can refer your daughter to the meditation found at the top of my blog called ‘Remember a Past Life Right Now’ – something may come up for her.

Amazing story Karen. It was wonderful for your daughter that you were aware and were able to help her along by listening and encouraging her. And, by believing her. We have had a few similar incidents in our family when the grandchildren (one in particular) were little. You know it’s real just by the way they are talking, often using words or scenarios that most 3-4 year-olds wouldn’t be familiar with. Thanks for posting!
Thank you Cheryl,
You are right, as long as there is someone there who believes them (even if they don’t know it on a conscious level), children will open up to re-telling the story and healing for this lifetime.
xoxo

Rocks are mean. So cute. And such a great example of how we sometimes think people are mean when they are simply expressing anger. Glad she got over it.
Hello Ken,
Thank you. Yes, It was a cute way for her to talk about a tragic ending. I am glad too. I was afraid we would be calling her Baby for the rest of her life. She was so adamant about it.
Namaste,
Karen
When my daughter was very small she was always very princess like, way more than just playing the part. She would talk about the before time but didn’t give many details. One day she came running up saying “Mama I remember, I remember” She told us that she had been a princess and lived with her parents in a big house, A war had started and her nanny took her into hiding, there was an explosion and then she was here with us.The main thing she was very instant on was that it wasn’t here on earth because there were 2 moons. One day we will do a past life regression to find out more.
Pretty cool experience, Karen. When I was a kid, I had a *huge* fascination and interest in the Civil War: http://www.fpdorchak.com/CivilWarSixNew.html.
Thanks for sharing!
Wow…this is such an interesting story and I loved the fact that you added the part where healing really can happen anywhere….
I love reading about this Karen, real experiences with our kids just inspires us all to be more open with ‘beyond what we can physically feel and see’…. Our kids can teach us so much…. Barbara
IAM just wondering Karin if you read about my January Challenge and writing a short piece about your own awakening experience… to share with others in a Free E Book I will create from all the writings… I’ve extended it until 5th February to reach my magical no 33… Let me know if you are interested… Barbara http://memymagnificentself.wordpress.com/2013/12/17/challenge-2014-my-awakening-experience-and-moving-forward/
Interesting story with a happy healing for your daughter. I feel a strong French connection too. It was always my favourite subject at school and I easily blitzed the school prize. I have never been there but have always wanted to visit especially Paris and the Midi.
Interesting about birthmarks being signs from past lives. I have always felt watching ex Russian president Gorbachev with that big splattered birth mark at his temple, that it looks like a bullet wound to me from a previous life.

Hi Karen, I agree with Cheryl, so important that you supported your daughter by lending creedance to what she was saying and supporting her by validating her experience and her feelings. It certainly no doubt helped her to quickly heal and to move forward in her development. Namaste!
