It is My Turn to Try Telepathy

As I write this, I realized that I must have visited our local library a lot during high school. It was conveniently located right next door to school. I found a book that included information on how to do telepathy. Well, I had to know more since I read about it in Pebble in the Sky. (Remember, there is no instant information from the internet to be seen or heard of yet.)

After studying the book, I forced my younger siblings to participate in telepathy drawing experiments. I wanted to see if they could draw what I had drawn whilst they were in another room. We took turns like any good siblings would. I would try and draw what they had drawn without looking or talking to them too.

When the one who was drawing via telepathy was done, they called “Time!” And, we would run to see and compare our drawings. Mostly we were way off, but amazingly, we got a few incredibly close. The one picture I remember matching was of a large flower. Excitedly, we ran down to tell everyone. They did not really grasp the importance of this breakthrough (or maybe it was disbelief). But, that did not quell us from doing more experiments. I am sure my parents were glad we were playing nice and keeping out of trouble. It was hard to keep six kids quiet and happy.
